Extra Video: Sentinel 1, 2 & 3: summary of technical capabilities
In this extra video, Professor Martin Wooster provides a brief summary of the Sentinel satellites which have been launched so far, as part of the long term Copernicus programme. These include Sentinel 2a and Sentinel 3a, which both have optical sensors on board.
Hopefully, the first week of the course has given some initial insights into optical EO, and a flavour of what is to come later in this course. For a further overview of the role of satellite Earth observation, you can also watch the optional TEDx talk video, given by ESA’s Pierre-Philippe Mathieu in Hamburg last year.
Don’t forget you can download the video, transcript and take any quizzes available with the links on the right.
