Topic 2e - Inland water

In this video Dr Stefan Simis from the Plymouth Marine Laboratory explains some of the challenges involved in monitoring inland water from space.

As an important natural resource, crucial for access to clean water, it is essential to monitor the quality of inland water bodies carefully and frequently. Since the start of the Earth observation era, this has been made increasingly possible and we can now monitor and measure a range of features that allow us to assess the state of a water body, in detail and at a high temporal resolution.
